Gaite Ranch Resort

I have known Gaite Farm through a friend who posted her review in tripadvisor. I was curious then and had the urged to experience the place. The reviews were positive.

I found this place just in time when my childhood bestfriend, Marites Taping offered a summer treat for me, Edward and Edger. She chose Cebu. I was tasked to make the itinerary so I counted Gaite Ranch Farm in my list.

On our second day, five of us went to the farm in Toledo City. Its two hours drive from Lapu-lapu City. From Cebu City you will reach there in one hour. There were no road signs yet leading to the resort so we asked directions few times until we reached the place.

It was so sunny and bright when we arrived. No signs of the building yet, it made us hesitant if we were really on the right place. Just when we parked, the security guard welcomed us and helped us carry our luggages.

The lobby was nice with unique ceiling light.

The interior of the hotel was impressive. The restaurant was rustic. I love the kitchen. The cabinets are made of hardwood, antique style. Dining tables and chairs are hardwood too.

We ordered lunch. Food were superb. The price were just right, not expensive. The ladies who attended us were so amiable and sincere.

After lunch, we treated ourselves for an afternoon sleep since it was too hot to swim or tour the farm.

Around 5pm, we walked to the ranch. The horses were so healthy, tall and beautiful. We horseback under the sunset where colours of the clouds changed. When the moon stole the beauty of the sun. It felt so good.

After the short stint of being an equestrian, we had our dinner. I still love the food Then we enjoyed the swimming pool until 10 in the evening.

While having dinner we met their ever friendly chihuahua, Laika. She is a very sweet dog and everybody's friend.
Zzzzzzz.....

On our next day, Mr. Arvin Donan, the manager was very hospitable since we arrived, guided us to the farm.

They have an aviary where a cockatoo melted our hearts. She danced a lot and we were laughing hard.Indeed she was a performer.

They also have roosters. Lots of them. Not for sale, I think its for cockfighting.

Bees, birds, flowers, trees and more dogs made us relaxed.

And they have a bee farm. From the bee produce, they are selling pure honey bee and soap made of honey too.

The manager was kind enough to take our photos. He never failed us as our photographer. And these are the photos he got for us.

Customer service is excellent. I hope they will maintain it.

When you are living in the city, Gaite is a place to relax especially when you love nature. It will be best to visit there a year or two from now when construction is done and all facilities are in place.

Bravo Gaite Ranch Resort!

Genting Highlands - A Resort in the Sky

Some people pronounce Genting as gun-ting, some jenting, some ghenting with the hard G. But whatever the right pronounciation is, I must say that I love it there.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with the 3.38 kilometers of skyway. The longest cable ride in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It is also the "World's Fastest Mono Cable Car System". The air was crisp all the way up. We were on top of the rainforest but it was dark so we were not able to see how spectacular it was. I took this photo on our way down the next day.
It was almost 8:00 in the evening when we arrived. We ran fast to our hotel because it was fogging and so cold but I'm loving it because it is so hot in my country. I never thought that it could be that cold in Malaysia. But yes its cold, Genting is at the top of the mountain.
We stayed at The Theme Park Hotel formerly named Highlands Hotel, the first hotel In Genting that was opened in 1971.

No airconditioned. I think all hotels don't have AC because the weather is too cold but they have fan to make the air circulate inside the room.

In the morning, fogs were so thick. We cannot see anything below. We strolled and waited for the sun to shine. And God is so good, He gave us the sun. He wanted us to appreciate even more of His creation. We rushed to the park of The Theme Park Hotel.
It's awesome. The breeze was cold and the greeneries soothed me.
They have a maze garden.
The misty flowers were amazing.
The view below was spectacular.
Everything is perfect!

Some went to the casino, some enjoyed the rides while we enjoyed the nature.

Our skyride was not enough on our way up to the mountain. We decided to take the skyway on our way down.
After our cable ride, a very hospitable and accomodating cab driver toured us to the strawberry farm and the chocolate store. The strawberry farm is unique.
They grow tomatoes too.
The chocolates are expensive but until now I'm wishing I'm rich to buy all the chocolates there.

Genting Highlands Resort or Resort World Genting is a place not to be missed when you visit Kuala Lumpur.

It is a place to return to...

Rafflesia in Malaysia

My friend and I went to Poring Hot Spring, Kinabalu Heritage Park, Malaysia few days ago on March 24. On our way back to our hostel, the cab driver encouraged us to see Rafflesia so we did.

Rafflesia is the largest single flower of any flowering plant that may be over 39 inches in diameter.

We paid 20ringgit (P280) just to see this flower. Budding period is six to nine months. Some Malaysian species begin blooming at night and decomposes after two to three days, some species decomposes after one week of blooming. We were so lucky to see the three stages:

Rafflesia in budding stage:
Rafflesia in full bloom:
Rafflesia in decomposing stage:
Some don't have a chance to see the three important stages.

Some pronounce it as RAF-FLEES-SIA but I have known that it should be pronounce as RAFFLESIA sans FLEES because it was named after Thomas Stamford Raffles.

Ref Magnet Slave

I've been collecting ref magnets from my travels. I find every design colorful, unique and cute so there were times that I bought more than one piece from one place.

My mother told me to stop buying because she don't like stuff sticking in the ref but I strongly disagree, after all we are not staying together, I'm sure she could bear it during her short visits.

A friend of mine told me once that I need to buy another refrigerator to accomodate the magnets and I was laughing with his idea.

I just love ref magnets!

Caricature (of my Sexiest Self 18inch waist)

Whoaw! In my couple of days in Prague and couple of times crossing the famous Charles bridge, I submitted myself for Caricature.

At Charles bridge, we can buy anything from earrings, paintings, bracelets, ref magnets and other souvenirs including caricature.

While my friend was looking for a framed antique watched, I went to the other side of the bridge asking how much is the caricature. I cant remember exactly if it was 350crowns (almost P900) or 450 crowns (almost P1,150).

I was so excited to have my first exaggerated self. So I posed in no time to have the artist started his work. I put my right hand on my waist, put my sunglasses on my head and there he started to draw me.
It was hard to pose like a model hahaha but it was fun though. I was afraid that I may look like Bob Marley but the artist assured me that I will not look like Marley. Or maybe I look like Angelina Jolie (in my dreams). He said that he can make me look like Marilyn Monroe for 2000francs. Its very expensive! I was laughing hard.

It was done in five minutes. I was happy to see myself with big (.....), big butt and very narrow waist. Is this 18 inch or 15 inch? Hahaha.
I said to the artist, WOW I have been dreaming of this big (....) at last I have it because of you....
